Photograph of the residential hotel, The Copley, located at 18 Huntington Avenue near Dartmouth Street in the Copley Square area of Boston, Mass. The photograph shows The Copley shortly after it was built with empty lots on either side of the building. The S.S. Pierce grocery store, a well-known Boston landmark, was built to the left of The Copley in 1887-1889.

One of a series of photographs that formed a panoramic view of the Boston waterfront area. The photographs were taken from the roof of the State Street Block Building on Atlantic Avenue between State and Central Streets. The attribution to the photographer Augustine H.
